“Excellent Opportunity to get a glimpse at requirements, operations and fielding issues”
Lt. Col. M.P. Gagne, Canadian Department of National Defence

Welcome to 8th Annual Military Helicopter Conference 2009

Defence IQ are delighted to announce the finalised agenda for the 8th Annual International Military Helicopter conference.

With a new and expanded speaker panel, the 2009 event will be bigger and better than ever. We still feature all the crucial helicopter platforms including Apache, Tiger, Merlin, Chinook, CH-53, Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter and many more.

But this year we’re also examining the major service issues of helicopters – looking at the in-theatre challenges that all deployed armed forces are facing with their rotary wing platforms.

New topics for Military Helicopter Conference 2009 include:

  • Maintenance and support techniques to reduce down-time: A dedicated focus day will examine innovative concepts and operational procedures to make repair and maintenance a swifter process, with a shortened supply chain and providing aircraft with more time in-service
  • Enhancing survivability: Helicopters may be the most vital resource on the asymmetric battlefield, but they’re also one of the most vulnerable targets. We’ve got feedback from pilots and crews on the performance of current systems and test results from solution providers who’ll show us what the next generation of platform protection will look like
  • Environment specific challenges: Lessons learned on training for brown-outs, dealing with the wear and tear that dusty conditions place on moving parts, helping pilots cope with the demands of close air support – we have must-hear sessions on these issues and more. Find out how you can make the most of the technology available and use the experience of others to maximise your effectiveness
